The ILHA respects the privacy of its members and visitors to its website, while adhering to all federal laws and the EU GDPR. The ILHA website collects data only to better serve members and other users of our website. We strongly believe that if our association is to flourish, visitors must be assured that information provided to us is used responsibly and appropriately. Information Collected by the ILHA

Most data the ILHA collects is used only to help us better serve our members. It is our general policy to collect and store only personal information that our members and visitors knowingly provide.

To gain access to members-only resources and personalization features on our website, members are asked to register and provide some limited information. This information is submitted voluntarily. The ILHA asks members to provide their name, member number (for members), organization name, business phone, and e-mail. Similar information may be submitted to the ILHA through membership applications, conference or event registration, and publication requests. Additionally, for some e-mails sent in HTML format by the ILHA to its members through its electronic newsletters, we will collect specific information regarding what the recipient does with that email. For those emails, the ILHA will monitor whether a recipient subsequently clicks through to links provided in the message. Other information collected through this tracking feature includes: email address of a user, the date and time of the user’s “click,” a message number, name of the list from which the message was sent, tracking URL number and destination page. The ILHA only uses this information to enhance its newsletter format & distribution to its members. This information is not sold or distributed in any other manner.

Credit Card Account Information

The ILHA does not capture credit card account information from online paid memberships or marketing purchases.  Credit card payments are processed directly through a certified processor (i.e.  Items with auto-renew are encrypted directly with the processor. The ILHA does not store credit card information.

IP Addresses & Cookies

The ILHA website uses IP addresses for analytical purposes.  The IP addresses are used to identify geo-location.  This information is used for marketing research by the ILHA and online advertisers.  Users can opt out of geo-location identification on their browser settings.

Cookies are used to track site login information, order information and other personalization.  In order to use the members-only areas on the ILHA website, your browser must be set to accept cookies.

The ILHA also uses cookies to track anonymous data for the purposes of traffic analysis and advertising. Third party vendors, such as Google, may display ILHA advertising on their sites by using cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to the ILHA website. Users may opt out of Google’s use of cookies at any time by visiting the Google Advertising Opt-out page.
